How to estimate market concentration given grouped data

A novel method is proposed of estimating market concentration for the census case in which firms are grouped into size classes and all that is known about the firms in each category is their number and aggregate size. The formula arises as a way of applying an alternative expression for the concentration ratio based upon the original and first moment size distributions of firms. The semi-parametric technique, which includes a method of interval as well as point estimation, is derived, applied and validated using actual and simulated data. It is anticipated that the estimator will be of use in competition analysis as well as in academic research.     

Ex post participation constraint in a principal–agent model with adverse selection and moral hazard

This paper analyzes optimal contracting when an agent has private information before contracting and exerts hidden effort that stochastically affects the output. Additionally, the contract is constrained to satisfy the agentʼs ex post participation. We highlight three features of this model. First, the agent faces countervailing incentives. Second, the separation of types is never optimal. Third, the optimal constant bonus rewarding success is distorted downward below its efficient level.     

The impact of corporate governance on employment relations in South Korea: the shareholder versus stakeholder perspectives

This study empirically examined the impact of corporate governance on employment relations outcomes utilizing a comprehensive data set drawn from 214 Korean firms. The study contrasted the stakeholder and shareholder perspectives of corporate governance in investigating the impact of corporate governance on employment relations outcomes. The results showed that the stakeholder corporate governance orientation (as compared to the shareholder orientation) had positive relationships with education/training expense, the level of average employee tenure and industrial relations climate, and had a negative association with number of strikes. Overall, the results implied that the stakeholder orientation of firms led to more beneficial effects for employees and more consensual relations with labor unions than the shareholder orientation did.     

提升中老年人体育参与因素的分析与建议

本文运用文献资料法、问卷调查法和数理统计等方法对现阶段老年人在大众健身中的体育参与情况及影响因素进行归纳、分析和研究,以了解目前老年人在大众健身中的体育参与情况,找出制约老年人大众体育参与的因素,为提升老年人在大众健身中的体育参与水平提供参考。     

投资者参与、企业内在价值与IPO抑价——基于中国A股市场的经验证据

本文以中国A股市场为背景,以2009～2010年沪深两市通过IPO募集股权资本的上市公司为样本,探讨了投资者参与程度、企业内在价值与IPO抑价之间的关系。研究发现,在诸多影响因素中,以市盈率衡量的企业内在价值与IPO抑价负相关;以中签率和换手率衡量的投资者参与程度,与IPO抑价正相关。较低的中签率和较高的换手率,代表更高的投资者参与热情,通常会导致更高的IPO抑价。此外,诸如IPO规模和行业特征等其他因素也会对IPO抑价产生影响。     

居家养老服务保障参与度的评估与分析——基于logit模型的估计

文章根据研究背景和经验理论提出假设，然后利用交互分析，找出居家养老参与度的影响因素，把被调查群体按不同年龄段和城乡分布分类，检验各个影响因素的显著性和稳定性，最后在总结研究结论的基础上，提出相应的建议与思考。
